Aunty Sally

During the last few weeks we have been very privilaged to have been visited by a very talented aborigninal artist, Aunty Sally. Aunty Sally was only a child when she was taken from her family in the stolen generation, her love and passion for art developed when she was young.

Throughout her stay Aunty Sally showed us different styles of art from aboriginal dotpainting to creating portraits & eliminating negative shapes.

Aunty Sally was a very talented artist. Her landscape paintings were amazing - she used effective colours in bottles to create realistic landscapes and probably one of her best paintings was the field of flowers she painted right before us & the painting of the river, the rocky grgoe and singular bent tree.

I think we were moved & amazed by Autie Sally's artwork - Thanks Aunty Sally & The art department for organising her visit!!!
